We start by digging ditches (zanjas), which define the footprint of the house.

Next we build wooden formwork into which the seismic beam (viga asismica) will be poured.

Next, we pour the viga, which is made of reinforced concrete.

Blocks are then laid on top of the viga.

Wooden beams (visuales) help keep the blocks plumb and in line as we build the walls.

Once the walls are up, we can begin to install the window frames.

Here's a view into the house with the door frames already in place.

The house is almost done!

The crew installs the ironwork which will reinforce the capping beam (corona).

If we're lucky, the local pigs will come to visit.
